Congratulations to the South Wales mountain runners who competed at Cilcain, North Wales on Bank Holiday Monday. Some excellent performances including a silver team medal for the senior men on a challenging course.
Briony Latter (MDC) had another strong showing for the second year finishing 10th in the women’s regional competition.
The men were led home by Rhys Goodrick in 5th, made even more impressive by the head start he afforded the entire field due to a car issue causing him to miss the start!
A superb debuting for the region on the mountains was Jake Keast (CDF Runners) who was an impressive 8th. The ever-dependable Tomas Black (MDC) finished in 10th position to ensure the team scored enough points to secure silver and see off the challenge from East Wales.

The WFRA South Wales Winter Hill Series is coming up and we’d love to see more runners taking on these short, tough races to bolster our mountain teams for 2027.
