CAU Inter Counties Cross Country Championships Results 2026

Well done to all 52 runners representing South Wales at Wollaton Park in Nottingham for the 2026 CAU Inter Counties Championship.

We saw some very fast running on a soft but not muddy undulating course, with cool dry weather ideal for running.

Juniors

We had 41 junior athletes competing with large contingents from Cardiff Athletics, Bridgend AC, Aberdare Valley AAC and Rhonda AC.

Alesha Santos (Rhonda AC) led the U13 Girls home in an excellent 13th individual position, with team mates Willow, Betty and Emily completing the scoring for a 34th team position. The under 13 Boys saw Rowan, Zac, Farley and Noah all finish in the top 60, and in the Cross Challenge final Jacob Moss (Cardiff Athletics) from the region finishing in 6th, with Zac Munn (Cardiff Athletics) sealing the overall series U13 Boys first position.

Nate Greig (Bridgend AC) finished first of the team for the U15 Boys, leading Lewis, Jacob and Farley home to an excellent 16th position. For the U15 Girls Bella Thie (Bridgend) and Isabelle Lawley (Swansea Harriers) raced each other home in 42nd and 43rd, with Seren and Lyla completing the scorers for an 18th team place. Taylor, Freddie and Dexter represented the region for the U17 Men.

Cardiff Athletic’s Bryony Boyce came 7th, supported by team mates Imogen, Lily and Megan for a team 25th in the U17 Women. Bryony’s brother Sam Boyce (Cardiff Athletics) came 39th in the U20 Men.

Seniors

With only the two senior age categories South Wales had 11 senior athletes competing, with three runners from both San Domenico and CDF Runners. Bethan Moor (CDF Runners) led the women’s team to 29th position, with Ffion, Lucy, Lauren, Rachel and Sarah also scoring. The final race of the day, the senior men, saw Badr Alainzay and Chris Oxley represent the region in a strong field.

As usual, thank you to the team managers, parents and helpers on the day, and the clubs and coaches without whom our athletes couldn’t achieve these fantastic results.
